Join our afterschool program and help children, grades K-6, with homework and other school tasks. Help keep children at grade level or help bring those already behind up to the level of their peers. Providing better understanding of basic skills can make a difference in a child's attitude toward school and build a foundation for lifelong learning. You can make a difference!

Mission Statement
The Mission of the Community Network Learning Center is to help improve self-reliance through the educational, employment, and professional opportunities. We provide residents of Valley Garden Apartments, Oxford Townhomes, and the surrounding neighborhoods with opportunities to increase computer, educational, employment, and professional skills. We also provide a range of enrichment activities including social events, field trips, and community activities. Our goal is to help participants succeed by providing the support and training necessary to improve education, employment, and self-esteem.
Description
The Community Network Learning Center is a Neighborhood Network Learning Center which was established following a HUD initiative to encourage the development of community resources, computer learning, and to enhance educational and job opportunities in HUD assisted and/or insured affordable housing.
The overall concept of the Neighborhood Network Centers is to encourage, through computer and other training, unemployed residents to gain meaningful employment, and for those underemployed to move up to better employment.
Some of the programs we offer to the Valley Garden residents, Oxford Townhome residents and the surrounding communities are as follows:
Computer Training (Such as computer classes, educational software, email and internet access)
Job Preparation (Such as Adult Literacy, GED classes, Job Skills Essentials, Typing Software, Community Resource Referral)
Family Activities (Family movies, monthly newsletter, community resource referral)
Youth & Teen Programs (After-School Tutoring, Summer Lunch Reading Program, Summer Activities)
Senior Activities (Health Screening, Enrichment Programs, Monthly Breakfast, Bi-Monthly Bingo, Hospitality Communittee, and Community Resource Referral)
A place where learning can be FUN!
