Join us this Monday, January 19th, 2015 as we celebrate MLK and the Civil Rights and Black Power Movement of the '60s and '70s with movie footage and a volunteer project with the African People's Education and Defense Fund.
Monday, January 19, 2015
10am: Historic film footage of Martin Luther King Jr. and civil rights leaders. Presentation by current leaders in the movement for social justice in the African community.
11:30 am: Take Action! Distribute door hangers on door knobs in the neighborhood to promote Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles, getting the word out about how to support the African People's Education & Defense Fund (APEDF) while enjoying the fresh air and some light physical exercise (walking).
2pm: Back at the community center we will host a pizza lunch with drinks and a tour of the community center and backyard community garden.
Bring your family and friends! Great for individuals or groups!
