Looking to make a real difference in your own community? West Valley Community Services (WVCS)* Food Pantry volunteers help distribute food to those in need through our no-cost grocery store.
Responsibilities include:
- providing direct customer service
- set up and clean up of the pantry
- unloading, sorting and stocking donated goods
Volunteers also assist clients through the pantry, helping them shop for groceries. Shifts last around 3-4 hours and the time flies by! This is a great opportunity for volunteers that like to get moving and serve clients in a direct way.
Volutneers are asked to volunteer for 1 shift per week, for at least 8 consecutive weeks. Closed-toed shoes are required.
Shifts available:
- 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays
- 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Tuesdays or Thursdays
- 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursdays
*West Valley Community Services (WVCS) is a basic needs organization that serves people in need in the Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and West San Jose areas. The mission of WVCS is to encourage the sharing of community resources, to provide basic human needs in a caring and dignified environment, and to provide opportunities for volunteers to participate in WVCS' activities.

About West Valley Community Services:
West Valley Community Services, Inc. is a non-profit, community-based agency that has been providing direct assistance and referral services to the west valley communities of Santa Clara County for over 45 years. Founded in 1973, West Valley Community Services provides a continuum of basic needs, including an in-house and mobile food pantry, homeless support, affordable housing, emergency financial assistance, family support, referrals, education, and case management. West Valley Community Services serves homeless and low-income individuals and families in the west valley communities of Cupertino, Saratoga, West San Jose, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and the surrounding mountain regions.
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8 am to 12 pm, 1 pm to 5 pm
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
