ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross Southwest Minnesota Chapter

Join The American Red Cross in its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The Southwest Minnesota Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking board members to represent Nobles, Rock, Jackson, Martin and Murray Counties. New board members are elected by the existing board for a term of 3 years and report to the board chair. The time commitment is approximately 1-5 hours per month for: 1-2 hours for bi-monthly meetings, 1-2 hours for bi-monthly committee/project meetings and time for financial development activities and to represent the Red Cross in the community. Most meetings are held at the chapter office in Worthington or via conference call.

As a board member you will have the opportunity to: Ensure effective public relations for the Red Cross; Represent the Red Cross in the community by providing educational information and presentations; Monitor and aid in fundraising, donor engagement and personal financial contributions; Develop and implement strategic plans and much more.

Trainings, information and guidance will be provided to board members.
