Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) is a Premier Accredited Therapeutic Riding Center that offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons and hippotherapy for children and adults with special needs in Crownsville, MD. Volunteers, ages 14 and up, assist with the riding lessons and hippotherapy as horse leaders or sidewalkers that provide direct assistance to the rider under the guidance of a certified instructor or therapist. All volunteers are required to attend an orientation prior to beginning their volunteer service. Description

We are a year round Premier Accredited Center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH). We serve over 150 special needs individuals on our farm in Crownsville, Maryland, just south of Baltimore, north of Annapolis and east of Washington, DC. We rely on the support of several hundred volunteers.
