As the largest voluntary health organization, the American Cancer Society is passionately committed to saving lives from cancer. They are working to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays - a world where cancer never steals another year from anyone’s life.

We are looking for CREATIVE, DEDICATED, and INSPIRING people who want to make a difference and FIGHT BACK AGAINST CANCER in Sterling Heights, by being involved in one of our cancer fighting events, the Relay for Life!

You will have the opportunity to work as an Event Leadership Team composed of volunteers just like you who plan our community event! Attend 1 planning meeting per month, and spend any additional time on event depending on role/tasks assigned and discussed at planning meetings.

We are a volunteer ran, staff supported organization and YOU have the chance to be apart of one of the countries LARGEST non-profit volunteer armys! Not to mention, this is a great way to gain experience for resume building!

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about the fight against cancer!
  • Knowledge and working use of a computer
  • Ability to get along with others, be a team player
  • Ability to attend event leadership meetings once per month for approx. 1 hour
  • Ability to attend your Relay for Life Community Event
  • Help share the word about our mission in the local fight against cancer!
  • Be creative, committed, energetic, and help bring fresh ideas!
