The OWMRC is an organization of medical and non-medical volunteers who contribute their skills and expertise during public health emergencies and during skill-building activities throughout the year. Mission Statement
The Okaloosa-Walton Medical Reserve Corps' mission is to supplement existing community emergency medical response systems during disasters and urgent public health needs such as weather emergencies, communicable disease outbreaks and chemical/biological agent dispersions.
Description
The Okaloosa-Walton Medical Reserve Corps (OWMRC) is an organization of medical & non-medical volunteers who contribute their skills and expertise during public health emergencies, and when available, during skill-building activities throughout the year. The OWMRC is hosted by the Florida Department of Health in Okaloosa County, but serves both Okaloosa and Walton counties. It is a corps of over 270 licensed and non-licensed medical and other professionals willing to give of their time when duty calls.
