Position Title: Outreach Assistant
Department:
Education - College Readiness Program
Location: 1055 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 1955
Commitment: 8 hours per week, M-F between 9am to 5pm, minimum of three month commitment


Position Available: Immediate opening

Position Description and Duties: The Outreach Assistant will work within the Education department to provide additional support to the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator with the following tasks: Conduct outreach to service providers, conduct phone interviews with CSWs to gather information on program applicants; receive and process program referrals; mail applications to families and follow up with phone calls; make referral updates to appropriate parties; accurately enter data to track communication with clients and referral parties; prep student files and outreach materials, mailings; prepare large mailing; other duties as needed

Skills and Qualities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Solid communication skills; comfortable making phone calls to caregivers/parents and service providers. Experience using a computer and familiarity with office equipment, including MS Office, copy/fax machine, internet research and the ability to learn new programs. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Must be able and capable of following multi-step instructions and working with confidential information and sensitive topics with minimal supervision.


Volunteer Process: Volunteers are recruited for open
positions until the positions are filled. They are selected based on their skills, commitment and availability. Prior to beginning service, volunteers are required to attend an orientation, get fingerprinted and pass a background check. UFC is seeking to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with its volunteer community and is looking for volunteers eager to connect with our organization’s mission and youth. Please note, it may take up to three weeks to be processed after attending an orientation.
