Help an adult learn to read. They'll discover a new world. Indy Reads reaches over 1,300 adults annually with one-on-one tutoring, small group classes, and our Literacy Labs located in neighborhood centers, adult high schools, HSE classes, jails and re-entry programs.
All interested volunteers are asked to attend a two-hour Indy Reads Orientation session. The orientation provides an overview of adult literacy issues, the mission and work of Indy Reads, and our available volunteer opportunities. There is no cost to attend. Please note that attending this orientation is a prerequisite to register for training and to be a volunteer for Indy Reads.
