Whether you are a seasoned marketing expert or have no promotions skills at all, we have a place for you. The job of the promotions team is to let the people know that Uhuru Furniture is the place to make donations and to shop for great items at great prices. This is done through photographing furniture, creating Social Media posts (Facebook, Instagram), designing fliers using Canva or Photoshop.
Uhuru Furniture is a project of the African People’s Education and Defense Fund (APEDF). When you volunteer, you are a part of an organization and supporting programs for health, education and economic development of the black community. For more info, see www.apedf.org

Description
Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
