Groups and individual volunteers welcome, please email volunteer@niwa.org with any other questions.
December Nights in Balboa Park is one of the Park's largest events and is one of the largest fundraisers for the Japanese Friendship Garden. This historic event offers a variety of multicultural food, fun entertainment, and holiday music.
The Japanese Friendship Garden sells its famous chicken teriyaki bowls and yakisoba, which requires a lot of fast-moving, helping hands. This is a fun opportunity for those who like being fast paced and active, enjoy the festivities of the holiday season and the festival spirit of selling traditional Japanese street food! All of our proceeds will go to the Japanese Friendship Garden's cultural and wellness programs and our Children's Garden project!
If you're a student in need of volunteer hours, this is a great one for you! College community service organizations welcome to participate.
GROUPS ARE WELCOME: But please only sign up if 100% committed to the opportunity. Last minute cancellations will put us in a bind!
