The seventh annual Rock 'n’ Roll Half Marathon San Francisco will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019. Runners from around the world will be traveling here to participate and volunteers are needed to come out in force to support the race as well as the Health & Fitness Expo occurring on Friday, April 1st and Saturday, April 2nd at the Moscone Center. Not a runner or walker? You can still be a part of the fun! Volunteers are needed to assist with every aspect of the event, including setup, pre-registration, the Health & Fitness Expo, the Start Line, Finish Line and water stations along the course. Team up with your friends or family and make it an experience you won’t forget!

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer at the Health & Fitness Expo (Pier 35): Friday, April 5 from 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM:
Sort participant shirts for distribution, issue registered runners their race numbers, distribute race participant T-shirts, distribute race Goodie Bags, stock and assist participants with souvenirs, etc.

Volunteer at the Start Line (Pier 35): Sunday, April 7rd from 4:30 AM - 7:30 AM:
Start Corrals: Each corral is numbered and corresponds with the runner’s number. Race Crew Volunteers are needed to help the runners find the correct corral and to maintain order within the corral.
Gear Check: Each runner is issued a gear check bag to be used for any personal items. The gear bags are labeled and are numerically placed in order. Race Crew Volunteers are needed to check these gear bags in the correct order and assist runners in this process.
Refreshments: Race Crew Volunteers are needed to set up and distribute water, bagels and more to the runners before the start of the race.

Volunteer at the Finish Line (Ghirardelli Square): Sunday, April 7th from 5:30 AM - 11:30 AM:
Checked Gear Retrieval: Race Crew Volunteers are needed to facilitate the organization of gear bags, and return gear to each runner.
Refreshment Zone: Race Crew Volunteers are needed to distribute water, bananas, oranges, energy bars and other food items after runners cross the Finish Line. Awards: Each runner is presented with a finisher’s medal. Race Crew Volunteers are needed to award a medal to each runner. Children under the required age of 14 may volunteer at the Award Area of the finish line. Please inquire.

Volunteer at a Water Station (Various locations along the course): Sunday, April 7th shifts will range from 4:30 AM - 8:30 AM to 5:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Various Locations along the Course:
Groups of 10 or more individuals are needed to hand out water, sports drink and energy gel along the course. Groups should register together after indicating interest to the volunteer coordinator.
