CNGF is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to prepare flyers and brochures that advertise CNGF’s programs and workshops. The Graphic Design Intern will work closely with the Social Media team. In this part-time, flexible position, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing graphic materials for CNGF’s programs and workshops
  • Printing and preparing flyers/brochures for distribution.

We're looking for applicants with academic or professional experience creating printed graphic work. Must have access to and be comfortable using the Adobe Suite or other graphic programs. College students in environmental studies are encouraged to apply.

This position is very flexible and can be performed off-site. Materials produced can be used in future work portfolios. This internship provides hands-on experience with non-profit management, media and marketing, and native plant ecology.

Description

The California Native Garden Foundation is a non-profit educational, research, and resource organization that promotes gardening with California native plants. CNGF’s goal is to increase the popularity and use of California's native plants in the designed landscape. California Native Garden Foundation (CNGF) educates the public and design community on the value of native gardens through classes, field trips, garden tours, and publications. CNGF offers grants and professional assistance to develop programs on ecology, garden design, plant identification, garden building, and garden management.

Grants are awarded to schools, colleges, museums, and public spaces, whose stewards commit to providing help with installation and maintenance. CNGF offers pro bono garden design, native plants (donated by generous native plant nurseries), and volunteer assistance. The resulting planting and care of native gardens provides enjoyment and education to children and adults for years and years.
