Get involved in this very unique and rewarding volunteer experience! Speak at the IMPACT OF CRIME class. This educational program teaches offenders how crime impacts us all!!! A key element of the class is the direct involvement of people who have been impacted by crime. Referrals from current speakers are available. Volunteers who participate in the program report high levels of satisfaction and believe that their involvement may help prevent future crime.

Topics of crime inlcude: violent crime, assault (including stalking), property crime (burglary, fraud, identity theft, shoplifting), domestic violence, drunk driving and robbery.

Turning Leaf Project is dedicated to building a healthier and safer community by providing education and support to those impacted by incarceration on their path to becoming positive and contributing members of society. Founded in principles of community service and restorative justice, Turning Leaf Project teaches inmates the skill set they need to change negative behaviors and avoid further contact with the criminal justice system. We believe that successful reentry is viitally important to the well-being and quality of life of all community members, not only offenders and their families.

Description

The Impact of Crime class is the cornerstone program of the Turning Leaf Project. This educational program teaches offenders about the human consequences of crime. Offenders learn how crime negatively impact victims, their friends, family and the community at large.
