Under the supervision of the museum director and volunteer librarians we are looking for volunteers to work in our library and museum in various capacities. Library and museum skills are a plus but are not necessary.

There are a lot of things you can do for the American Military Museum: catalog the huge collection of books, manual, maps, photos, and more, help promote the library and outreach to the community (on location and special events), manage the database, supervise boyscouts during special projects, apply library practices and principles in our collection, and more.

There is much to do for the museum and it's library so if you are the right fit there are lots of projects to work on. We need someone who is willing to learn, not afraid to get a little dirty (there is a lot of old material and it is a bit of a dusty environment), and has attention to detail. When it comes to books and materials in the library, inventorying and cataloging takes great care and strict adherence to "local rules" (yes, libraries have local rules).

Hours are flexible and you will be trained. If you have a positive attitude and want to be part of a library from the ground up, preserving America's military history, and making it accessible for years to come, then PLEASE contact us!
