Become a Hospice Volunteer Today
Voted Best Hospice Beaumont 2015
New Century Hospice is seeking compassionate individuals
We are always excited to work with volunteers. There are various areas that a volunteer can assist our patients and families. The areas are: reading to patients, respite ( Giving a caregiver a break by spending time with a patient.), crafts, calling BINGO at facilities, Bible Study, holding a hand of a patient, providing companionship, office assistance, celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, and phone calls. We are also able to assist high school and college students in acquiring community service hours. Volunteers provide companionship and socialization where the patients reside. We service patients in the following Beaumont areas: Port Arthur, Orange, Liberty, Nederland, Silsbee, Buna, Mauriceville, Port Neches, Groves.
Activities of a Volunteer:
Calling newly admitted patients and making bereavement calls
Assisting with office activities
Helping organize events
Making holiday outreach calls to patients
Provide a healing presence to patients and families
It may be that you hear stories of a lifetime of relationships and adventure, or listen to current worries and concerns. It may be that you sit in silence holding a hand. Hospice is about quality of life in each moment. Our volunteer training will help you deepen your awareness of the healing presence you have available to share in this journey of life.
