Share your passion, have fun and be a positive impact on girls' lives by giving your time to lead or assist with activities at girl events. Activities are already created and materials provided. Some events may require a specific skill like outdoor cooking or interior design, but most require no prior knowledge just your enthusiasm. Events are held year-round and volunteering is very flexible. During the school year, events are held Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and afternoons, and some weeknights. Summer events are held weekdays and some Saturday mornings and afternoons. You can pick what interests you, specific dates, and determine how frequently you want to volunteer. At many events, girls rotate through various stations; each station focusing on a specific project or skill that may fulfill a requirement for the recognition they are working towards. Event topics include environmental awareness, outdoor skills, the arts, health and wellness, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), business literacy, and more! Start making a difference today in a girl's life by becoming a volunteer at Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast!

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
