House volunteers provide hospitality for residents and guests by preparing meals, baking, cleaning, and answering the phone. Occasionally, House Volunteers are also asked to help with mailings and other administrative tasks. We ask that House Volunteers work one four-hour shift at least twice per month. Six House Volunteers are needed per day.
Our volunteers receive in-depth training to prepare them for the variety of tasks and the emotional demands of volunteering at Quiet Oaks. Our volunteers learn to respond with flexibility, compassion, and confidence to the ever-changing needs of the household and its occupants.

Description
Quiet Oaks is a residential hospice house that becomes home for people facing terminal illness and their families. Our resident's primary treatment goals are based on comfort and dignity rather than a cure. Quiet Oaks Hospice House was created for the community, by the community. Through the support and generosity of hundreds of volunteers, advocates, and donors who believe in our mission, we ensure that Quiet Oaks is an affordable and accessible resource.
