(STRpp513) Stella Therapy Riding in Pompton Plains is looking for volunteers beginning in September 2013 to assist with therapeutic horseback riding lessons. Learn about horses and, at the same time, help a student learn the joys of horseback riding. Volunteers will groom, tack and untack horses, and serve as lead and sidewalkers. You need to be comfortable around horses and willing to learn, though extensive horse experience is not necessary. We will be holding a volunteer training session in August - so sign up now! Minimum age of 12 required. Youth through seniors are welcome.

VMC provides volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups of all ages through our affiliation with over 500 not-for-profits, schools and government entities. VMC goes beyond matching to educating volunteers. Professional development is offered to volunteer managers, agency boards, and individuals wishing to serve on a not-for-profit board of directors. Business partnerships enable us to assist them in planning and executing volunteer projects. In addition, outreach and senior services are offered through friendly visiting and telephone reassurance programs.
