Disaster Action Team (DAT) members respond to local emergencies to assist the families affected by providing for the immediate, emergency needs such as shelter, food, clothing and replacement of necessary medications. Individuals serve on an as needed, on call basis to respond to the needs of those in their local communities. Training is provided.

The volunteer spirit is the backbone of the American Red Cross. Our organization was founded by volunteers, and currently, our local chapter has a ratio of volunteers to paid staff of 54 to 1! Each of our volunteers is important, and each volunteer gets the chance to truly make a differnece... right here at home.
