8th ANNUAL COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING BANQUET

ORGANIZATION: VALUABLE BLESSINGS, INC

Valuable Blessings, Inc.and Capitol Heights Elementary school has
partnered for it's 8th annual Community Thanksgiving Banquet on Wednesday
November 22, 2017 from 4:00(pm)-8:00(pm). We are seeking assistance with the following:

*Food Donations
*(#10 canned goods, thawed out turkeys or desserts) 3 days in advance
*Monetary donations (great need)
*Gift cards (we will have several raffles/giveaways)
*Supplies (aluminum pans, utensils,bags, etc)
*Transportation (seniors and those without transportation)
*Advertisement


Volunteers:

*Greeters- These people will be at the front door to greet our guest with
a smile and direct them to the host.

*Host- These people will be available to seat our guest

*Table Servers- These people will be available to assist our seniors etc
with any extra food items that they may need from the buffet area.

*Food Servers- These people will be available to serve food in the buffet
areas.

*Administrators- These people will check people off on the list. We will
have time slots for people to come in and eat.

*We are also asking each volunteer to bring in an unwrapped toy or a gift
card for our Christmas toy drive.

We are looking to feed anywhere between 200-250 people on this day within
this time frame, therefore we are in great need of assistance.

If you have a business/organization and you are interested in assisting us
with feeding people that may not get a meal otherwise on that day or may
not have family to spend the day with or if you know of anyone that would
like to make a donation or assist us in any way please contact me. We will
be doing dine in as well as carry out for those that do not wish to sit
down with us and eat.

Community Service hours will be given for any child that participates. We are offering community service hours to students for each gently used coat or new unwrapped toy that they donate.

This is a great opportunity to give back and experience something great
with our children at our side!

The mission of Valuable Blessings, Inc. Nonprofit Organization is to intervene and counsel at-risk, off-track, economically disadvantaged youth populations with a variety of services, including mentoring, cultural awareness, cooking classes and academic enrichment. We seek to overcome what has become a major obstacle to organizations and social service agencies that provide services to these individuals by creating an organizational paradigm that eradicates the negative attitudes and low-self esteem that permeate the minds of so many of these at-risk youth.

Description

Valuable Blessings, Inc., a tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Prince George's County, Maryland, has implemented a new grassroots cooking, tutorial and mentoring program targeted toward at-risk and underachieving youth in Capitol Heights and District Heights, Maryland. Valuable Blessings, Inc. is a faith-based community-based organization that is dedicated to working with other community-based organizations and educational institutions in an effort to improve the academic performance, cultural awareness and life skills of students throughout Prince George's County, Maryland.
