ORGANIZATION: Wilshire Community Services

Good Neighbor volunteers assist isolated older adults and adults with disabilities with some simple daily activities in order to support the safety and independence of the client. Volunteers receive a list of requests in their area and select only the tasks that fit for their interests and schedule. There is no minimum commitment since each task is scheduled individually through the program staff. Volunteer may choose from tasks like providing rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping and running errands, meal preparation, light housekeeping, yard work and minor home repair. Training and on-going support is available from friendly, knowledgeable program staff.
