National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs is launching "WE HONOR VETERANS", a pioneering campaign to help improve the care Veterans receive from hospice and palliative care providers.
By recognizing the unique needs of our nation's Veterans who are facing a life-limiting illness, hospice and palliative care providers will be able to accompany and guide America's Veterans and their families toward a more peaceful ending.
We are recruiting veteran volunteers to match up with veteran patients. Veterans can form a camaraderie that can penetrate their civilian social roles. They share a common language; code of conduct and honor. Sharing supports life review and healing.

Description
HCT's care is a holistic approach that focuses on family and loved ones, along with the patient. Hospice Care Team is an Interdisciplinary team of Medical Directors, Registered Nurses, LVN's, Social Workers, Certified Nursing Assistants, Chaplais, Beraeavement Counselors and Volunteers. The care and support offered by the hospice staff enables patients to remain in the comfort of familiar surroundings and to live each day the way they choose to live.
