**ATTENTION** Residents of: Cupertino, Los Altos, Milpitas, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and Unincorporated Areas of Santa Clara County!!!!
The Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter is a leader in responding to climate change through our Cool Cities Program, and brings the slogan "think global, act local" to life in the Silicon Valley Region.
We are seeking motivated and creative volunteers to serve on our Cool Cities Teams and support these goals in cities in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Benito Counties.
Members and Leaders involved with Cool Cities Teams work together toward many goals in their city, including:
- Conduct an Community-wide Inventory of Emissions
- Adopt a Climate Action Plan
- Support the creation of complete, livable neighborhoods with homes, jobs, and shops near transit.
- Encourage residents to perform home energy upgrades
- Support single-use bag ban and polystyrene ban
- Organize community education events
Key Responsibilities and skills:
- Build and support your team's local campaign (send public comment letters, meet with city staff, work with team members on the campaign, recruit new members to work on the campaign)
- Participate in outreach and education to build community awareness and participation in your team's work.

- Palo Alto
- San Jose
- Santa Clara
- Sunnyvale*

Description
The Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter organizes outdoor recreation for people of all ages, advocates for policies that protect our natural environment, supports environmental candidates for public office, and provides opportunities for people who want to develop leadership skills to give back to the community and help the environment.
