Make an exciting difference in the future of local K-12 students by teaching them economic success skills! NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED- we provide all training and materials. You can inspire young people to experience the realities and opportunities of the new global marketplace through Junior Achievement. JA, the nonprofit leader in providing innovative financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship education, needs volunteers to take career- and life-skills mentoring into local classrooms. Many opportunities are one-day activities.

Mission Statement
Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to successfully participate in our rebuilding economy.
Description
Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans is part of Junior Achievement Worldwide which reaches 7.5 million young people each year. In 2010-11, our local office reached over 22,000 young people. We present activities-based curriculum to students K-12 in public, private and parochial schools in our 12-parish area. Our curriculum is closely correlated to the Louisiana Standards in Social Studies and emphasizes business, financial literacy, and caree/work life skills. We need volunteers to present the JA activities in classrooms. The typical volunteers visits the classroom once a week for one hour for five to eight weeks. The volunteer uses our well-scripted lesson plans and our high quality materials that are all contained within a JA Kit. JA orientation is available online; anyone is qualified to volunteer.
