Become a mentor to high school students in The Fresh Air Fund’s College Connections Program. During weekly mentoring sessions, volunteers help students prepare for college through a series of lessons in areas such as Money Management/Financial Aid, Decisions and Consequences, Maintaining Focus and Assessing Priorities, Setting Goals, College Decisions, and Relationships and Ethics. Mentors work on an individual and small group basis. Fresh Air staff members provide support to all mentors and are a resource to help volunteers plan for each session. Volunteers make a weekly commitment to attend meetings on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at The Fresh Air Fund’s midtown office (Third Ave and 41 st Street). The program starts the last week in September through mid-May (with a break from mid-December through mid-February). Volunteers with a college degree are preferred. Please email Victoria at vthornton@freshair.org for more information.
