We Honor Veterans

If you are a Veteran interested in making meaningful connections with other Veterans, consider becoming a Veteran-to-Veteran Hospice Volunteer. At the end of life, the camaraderie created between Veterans can be extremely comforting and meaningful. Volunteers visit our Veterans on Hospice in their homes or wherever they might reside within Monroe County. Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in our We Honor Veterans Pinning Ceremonies.

UR Medicine Home Care, Visiting Nurse Hospice offers caring and comfort through life's final stage. Dying and death present terminally-ill individuals, their families and caregivers many new and difficult challenges. At the same time there are opportunities for compassion, growth and understanding unmatched at any other life stage. The Visiting Nurse Hospice and Palliative Care Program supports patients and their loved ones throughout this most difficult time, providing professional home care that meets both medical and emotional needs, promoting as full and comfortable a life as possible.

Description

Our hospice and palliative care professionals are experienced in every aspect of hospice care, from guiding the patient's smooth transition from hospital to home...to providing comfort care with respect and compassion...to supporting family and friends through their bereavement following death.
