Reading ASSIST Institute is seeking volunteers to help improve the literacy skills of children at risk for reading failure. No previous teaching experience is necessary! Volunteers receive a free, intensive, research based, 50 hour Reading Intervention Course in our curriculum. Training begins in January, 2015.
You can make the difference for a struggling student and watch their self esteem rise as they become confident readers.
Trained volunteers are placed with a mentor who will help them with the program delivery to children. Volunteers work on a team tutoring children during the day in elementary schools in Delaware. Reading ASSIST volunteers presently tutor in over 30 school locations.
