Gift shop volunteers greet customers, assist customers with shopping needs, gift wrap/bag items, process customer payments, deliver gifts, flowers and balloons to patient rooms, unpack new items as they arrive, add price tags provided by manager and add items to the shop displays. All proceeds generated are returned back to the hospital for enhancement of patient experience. Need: Monday-Friday

Volunteers at Baton Rouge General are committed to supporting patients and families through compassionate service and care. From offering a warm smile and cheerful "hello" to visitors, to helping someone find the perfect gift for a loved one, to assisting patients and families in Surgery Waiting Area, our volunteers are dedicated to service excellence. Our volunteers are an essential part of our Community of Caring, impacting so many of the General's patients, visitors, friends, doctors, nurses and staff. They provide the little extras that help to create that special experience people have come to know and love at the General.
Description
We are a not for profit hospital which is community owned. Our volunteers have an Auxiliary which returns all profits from fundraisers and the gift shops to the hospital at year-end to purchase medical equipment, security equipment, and interior updates.
