LVA trains volunteers to provide one-on-one tutoring to adults 18 in metro-Atlanta who have little to no English language proficiency. LVA matches tutors with students based on schedules and county/area of residence. Volunteers are asked to commit 2 hours a week for at least one year with their students. Knowledge of another language is not necessary to work with an ESOL student. Prior teaching experience is not necessary; LVA provides training to volunteer tutors.
