Our organization is a not for profit 501(c)3 parent volunteer group. We provide support to families in Champaign County and surrounding areas who have members with Down syndrome.
We have a monthly meeting for members each month. We also host educational workshops for parents and teachers in the community. We have an on-going need of volunteers for a variety of items; babysitting during our monthly meetings(must meet requirements), organizing our office, lending library, making fliers, updating member directory, board manual, working handbook, and many times short projects come up during the year.
Come be a part of our community family! Our members and their families are wonderful people to get to know and help throughout the year.

About Champaign County Down Syndrome Network
Location:

Mission Statement
To provide support for families with members who have Down syndrome and to raise awareness and acceptance of Down syndrome.
Description
We provide information to new parents, meetings for information and support for families of members with Down syndrome, and social activities throughout the year. We work in the community, often in conjunction with national or international campaigns, on issues that affect people with Down syndrome. For example, we are active in the Spread the Word campaign to eliminate the use of the word 'retard' as an insult. Our largest activity of the year is the annual Buddy Walk, a day celebrating people with Down syndrome and raising awareness and funds.
