Cat/kitten adoptions event-each Saturday from 1 PM - 4 PM. Counselors interview each potential adopter to help them find the right cat for their lifestyle/family. If they meet all of the adoption requirements, the counselor guides the adopter in paperwork completion and makes arrangements for the cat to be taken home. Training is required for this position and you will work with a more experienced adoption counselor as our adoption counselors always work in pairs. Adoption Counselors also maintain the cages throughout the shift and play with the cats during slow times. Adoption center is located in Petco at Preston and Old Shephard Place in Plano.

Note-we cannot accommodate community service hours. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

Mission Statement

Feral Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. We rescue abandoned, unwanted, and abused cats. We also visit local Animal Control facilities and rescue cats and kittens scheduled for euthanasia. We do not have a shelter. All of our rescued cats are cared for by our volunteer fosters and partner veterinarians until suitable homes are found. Our adoption center is located at the PetSmart in Rowlett, Petco in Garland at Firewheel and Petco in Plano on Preston Rd. Cats are housed in the Luv A Pet Center, and are available for adoption seven days a week. Kittens and additional cats are available for adoption each weekend. In addition, we assist groups and individuals with rescue and management of feral cat colonies through a method known as TNR, which stands for Trap, Neuter, Return. Feral Friends is staffed and managed by volunteers. We rely entirely on donations from adoption fees and concerned animal lovers.
