Be the change in the community. Something minor can make a big difference in someone's life.
The Senior Home Safety Volunteer assists individuals with staying as independent and healthy for as long as possible by making minor safety related home repairs. The Senior Home Safety Volunteer provides minor home repairs and modifications based on the Senior Home Safety Program Coordinator’s assessment of the safety issue. No cosmetic improvements.
Location: Throughout Marathon County at participants’ homes.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete minor safety related home repairs, such as (but not limited to):
o Installing handrails and grab bars
o Minor Repairs on windows and doors
o Install smoke detectors
o Reattach loose tiles and carpet
No plumbing or electrical work
Complete an application which includes giving permission for a background check.
Can use your own tools or work with Coordinator's tools. Will only do repairs/modifications that you are comfortable with.
Looking for a handy man or woman that can give a couple hours a month of their time.

Description
ADRC-CW promotes choice and independence through information, personalized options counseling, advocacy, and access to services which prevent, delay, and lessen the impacts of aging and disabilities. We serve adults age 60 years and older and individuals age 17 years 6 months or older with physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, substance abuse issues, as well as their families, caregivers, and friends. Our service area includes Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, and Wood Counties and we have offices in Antigo, Marshfield, Merrill, Wausau, and Wisconsin Rapids.
