Family Centers seeks a passionate individual who desires who work with the aging population. This internship is part of Friendly Connections, a program designed to provide support, education and wellness services for adults 50 .

General tasks and functions of the internship will include:

A variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of the day-to-day functions of the program, which includes but is not limited to: updating the program’s databases, answering the telephone, and coordinating the program’s teleconference courses. Interns will also be responsible for coordinating and executing the monthly mailing of course schedules and newsletters. Work with the program manager to conduct intakes for potential clients and assist in the pairing of new and existing clients with volunteers for our Friendly Caller and Friendly Visitor Programs. The candidate will also work face to face with the aging population while conducting educational, social and wellness groups at low-income housing sites for seniors and the disabled population in both Greenwich and Stamford.

Interested candidates should have an interest in working with the aging adults and should be also be flexible in their work environment. The hours of the internship are flexible and we can work with potential candidates on a case by case basis to meet requirements of their school. All candidates are required to come in for a personal interview and submit to a background check
