Tenants Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to defending and advancing the rights of California tenants to safe, decent and affordable housing. As an organizing intern you will support organizing campaigns and mobilize members to act on active campaigns in order to advance renter’s rights across the state.
Duties include:
-Mobilization: Make calls to turn out members for current campaigns, participate in member meetings, attend rallies .
-Research potential organizational partners and individual leaders for campaigns
-Recruit and activate new tenant leaders via phone/door knocking
-Make follow-up calls to build relationships with tenant leaders
-Planning and research for future campaigns
-Media: follow-up calls to press, creation/distribution of outreach materials
You:
Commitment to economic justice required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Basic research skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to solve problems creatively, self-reflective, able to jump in and take initiative as needed.
