ORGANIZATION: myLIFE@Emory (for adults with ASD)

  • 9 people are interested

We are excited to announce this new opportunity to build relationships with individuals 25-35 years of age. Spend one evening each week sharing meaningful and enjoyable times together.

We are looking for volunteers who are passionate, patient, and open to learning that with a little time one can discover the gifts, talents, and contributions that adults on the autism spectrum intrinsically possess.

If you would like to help make a difference in the life of someone else, please contact us. We need YOU to make our efforts a success!

About myLIFE@Emory (for adults with ASD)

Location:

1551 Shoup Court, Decatur, GA 30033, US

Mission Statement

The basic mission of the Emory Autism Center is to help Georgia's individuals, living with an autism spectrum disorder, reach their highest potential.

Description

As an adult, we often take for granted the opportunities to simply choose meaningful activities where we can develop and build relationships and where we are able to learn skills to support adulting behaviors. The goal of the Emory Autism Center's adult program, myLIFE, is to create such opportunities for adults with an autism spectrum disorder.

Engaging activities provide group members with the chance to share interests and practice key social skills involved in successful interactions, to learn important life skills, and to create memories that will last a lifetime.
