Volunteers with HR experience or business experience are needed to help homeless women re-enter the work force.
These Career Preparation Workshops help ladies in shelters create or update their resumes and improve their interview skills.
These workshops are held on Saturday mornings. the time ranging from 8am till noon. These are small groups of 10 to 14 women. They are divided into two groups. One group works from 8am till 10am on resume creation while the other half works on interview skills. At 10am the group switch rooms and what they were working on.
The idea is to have the women finish the day with 5 copies of a professional looking resume, a flash drive with their resume on it that they can update, an appropriate email address, and increased confidence about the interview process. Volunteers for the resume creation need to have a laptop computer. CRN provides the resume paper and the flash drives.
