Chaparral House is a Skilled Nursing Facility in Berkeley dedicated to providing excellent person-centered care to frail elders.
We're looking for volunteers who would be willing to spend one or two hours a week offering our residents "manicures" (nail painting and buffing--no nail cutting or cuticle clipping) and hand massages. Some folks might also enjoy a little conversation as well.
We can set you up in our beauty parlor if it's available or an activities room if it's not. Some residents may also prefer doing it in their rooms.
You don't need to be a licensed professional--but should feel comfortable in providing these services. We have all the supplies you would need.
