Adults 55 and over the Nourishment Network Food Bank needs you to help with sorting, packing, or general office work. A vital job at the warehouse is where volunteers sort and stock like food in preparation for their "Sharing Floor" and distributed in the Jacksonville community. Every week they need hundreds of boxes and bags of food prepared for struggling families for family boxes, nourishing food for new mothers at Shands maternity, kid backpacks with sustaining food for children who may not have other resources on the weekend or on school vacation.
Hours are: Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm; Friday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Description
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is funded in part by a federal program entitled The Corporation for National and Community Service and the City of Jacksonville.
The dual purpose is to engage seniors 55 and better in volunteer service that meets critical community neeeds; and to provide a high quality volunteer experience that will enrich their lives.
