Literacy Volunteers of Greater Worcester is seeking volunteer tutors. Volunteer tutors work one-on-one to help an adult gain language proficiency. Only through attaining English language literacy in spoken and written word can adult learners become independent contributing members of our society. Volunteers attend a 6-session training that prepares them to work with an adult who is learning English. Training topics include learner profiles, lesson planning, and available resources for tutoring. We host 3 trainings each year in fall, winter and springtime.
Our January 2016 session training dates are:
Jan. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19 and 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Please contact us for more information on how to sign up.
