Join Futures for Kids as a volunteer for our 5K walk/ run on October 26th at the Research Triangle Park Foundation (12 Davis Drive Rtp, NC 27709). The event will run between 8am - Noon and we will need volunteers starting at 6am. We will need volunteers for registration, checkpoint booths, info booths, setup and breakdown etc. Assignments will be made the morning of the event. Please RSVP with your volunteer time attendance. Futures for Kids (F4K) bridges the gap between the hopes and dreams of our students and the workforce development needs of our communities.
Description
F4K is an interactive online career exploration tool that:
-helps students learn about career options that match up with their unique interests and passions, even ones they have never heard of or considered
-provides resources for students, parents and educators with valuable information on hundreds of careers plus practical steps to explore and pursue every possibility
-reinforces the relevance of school, encouraging students to not just graduate from high school but find what they are interested in so they can thrive and continue pursuing their career goals
-connects middle and high school students with Career Coaches from the business community who have experience in their field of interest
-allows local businesses to connect with their future workforce and provide support in the form of mentors, internships and scholarships
