Sorting & Merchandising is a great way to start with our organization!
The Sorting Team helps process and sort clothing donations. Working together, they determine which clothes will placed in the boutique and which will saved for our sales. They also help maintain the organization and appearance of the boutique and sale area by updating displays and restocking clothing, shoes and accessories.
Volunteers for this position may dress comfy and casual. This is a great position for someone who loves to organize and work "behind the scenes".

Mission Statement
The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to thrive in work and in life. Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success Worldwide has expanded to more than 150 cities and 24 countries across the globe. To date, Dress for Success has helped nearly one million women. Dress for Success Quad Cities was incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit in April 2011 and started suiting women in November 2011. As of June 2017, we have conducted over 1200 free interview and employment suitings. We offer resume reviews, mock interviews and other job-seeking assistance resources as well as ongoing career development support through the Professional Women's Group and Career Success Center. We offer a continuum of services, support, and resources to keep low-resource women moving forward as they march toward career success in work and life.
Description
Dress for Success provides each woman with a suit when she has a job interview. When she successfully lands the job, she returns to Dress for Success for up to one week's worth of career-appropriate separates. She also receives a year's worth of free monthly workshops in the Professional Women's Group, our free professional development and networking group.
For women who don't receive a job offer after her first interview, the Quad Cities affiliate offers a Career Success Center where our clients will receive support during their job search process. A Career Coach will help refine her resume and job search skills and provide additional interview appropriate feedback. Networking with other women who are currently in a job search will also be provided.
Dress for Success serves job-ready women by referral only from non-profit organizations including domestic violence agencies, homeless shelters, community colleges, vocational schools, job-training programs and others. Feel free to recommend a potential Quad Cities area Referral Partner.
