A wide variety of volunteer opportunities are available to assist with activities for seniors. Time commitment and days are variable: Assist Residents on outings: accompany staff & on a variety of outings. Outings could include: plays, concerts, mall shopping, casinos, hiking, restaurants, etc. Computer Instruction: Meet with small groups of residents for basic computer instruction. Bunco Facilitator: Set-up, lead and play Bunco on the 2 nd Monday of the month. One-on One Reading: Read to vision impaired resident. Special Events: serve food, socialize and help decorate for special events such as luau’s and other get- togethers. Speaker Presentations: volunteers are needed that could share their knowledge on any hobby or interest, including history, sports, travel, etc. Talented Performers: Share your talent with residents: music, singing, comedy, or any other; usually about an hour commitment. One on One Time visits: compassionate and caring individuals are needed to nd time with residents who need visitors. Men’s Group: spend time with men doing activities such as cards, poker checkers, billiards, etc. and accompany Men’s Group on outings. Interviewer/Writers: Interview a resident or staff member monthly and wirte a short article for the newsletter. Crafters: Instruct residents in craft classes of their choosing or those already on calendar. Share and instruct in arts and crafts- can lead a class or also just assist.
