Calvary Women’s Services offers housing, health, employment and education programs that empower homeless women in Washington, DC to change their lives. Our programs carry out our mission to offer "a safe, caring place for tonight; support, hope and change for tomorrow."

Currently, we're looking for volunteers to facilitate classes through our educational services, known at Calvary as LEAP (Life skills, Education and Arts Programming). LEAP empowers women with the skills and basic knowledge they need in their transition out of homelessness.

LEAP facilitators are committed and enthusiastic instructors who lead 8-10 residents in weekly discussions. The class topics range greatly but are all included in a curriculum designed for resident's transition out of homelessness. Currently, we are looking for facilitators to facilitate classes on the following topics:

  • Phone Apps
  • First Aid
  • Credit Scores
  • Budgeting
  • Nonverbal and Verbal Communications
  • A topic you are passionate about and want to share!

Facilitators make a commitment to teach for one hour a week on weekday afternoons for eight weeks.

We'd love to include you in our LEAP team. In order to apply or ask further questions, you can reach out to our Community Engagement Coordinator, Arielle Baker, at abaker@calvaryservices.org.
