Purpose: Assist the American Red Cross by educating the public to prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Willingness to support Red Cross mission
- Schedule qualified presenters for CDE presentations
- Receive and review CDE requests as forwarded from Chapter office
- Follow up with requesting organization by telephone for additional information and confirm request as appropriate
- Facilitate matching presentation requests with volunteer CDE presenters
- Forward information about request, such as presentation type, date, location, time to requesting organizations and volunteer presenters
- Maintain database of information on presentations
- Maintain roster of active Community Disaster Education Presenters and their availability
- Help plan and attend CDE meetings
- Provide support of CDE presenters by providing materials from National Headquarters and Chapter and supply materials with Disaster Services Office
- Record all presentations/booths in SABA
- Act as back-up support to presenters to ensure that presentations aren’t cancelled.

Serving communities and individuals of Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Ft Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Houston, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties.
