Each year since the disasters of 9/11, StarShine Academy Schools have created 11 Days of Peace and Sustainability to pay tribute to lives effected by 9/11 and to focus on the U.N. Day of World Peace on 9/21. For eleven days we focus on a particular theme each day to build community and realization that peace is possible. The celebration includes music, art, festivals, projects, and inspirational guest speakers. Day one 9/11 is the Kickoff at the campus of StarShine Academy Creative Community at 3535 E McDowell Road in Phoenix. 9/12 is Agriculture Day, 9/13 is Education and Financial Literacy Day, 9/14 is Health and Healing Day, 9/15 is United Nations and Cultural Exchange Day, 9/16 is Water Day, 9/17 is Ecology and EcoTourism Day, 9/18 is Recycling Day, 9/19 is Local Music and Art Day, 9/20 is Respect for All and Self-Empowerment Day, and 9/21 is the U.N. Day of World Peace.
It takes many, many volunteers and participants. We want you.
