Known as a Comfort Artist Volunteer, you will create comfort items to patients and/or family members through your ability to sew, knit or crochet, including:
- Hats & Afghans - Knit or crochet hats, lap robes, blankets and afghans at your home. Bring completed projects to the office where nurses, social workers and other staff will deliver them to the patient.
- Memory Bears & Pillows - Create memory bears and pillows by sewing together clothing or special material pieces supplied by the patient or family. You will be provided with a pattern and supplies. Bring completed projects to the office where social workers and other staff will deliver the treasured keepsake to the family.
This opportunity allows you to volunteer your time without leaving your own home!

Description
Volunteers play an important role at AdventHealth Hospice Care of Central Florida. As a community-based nonprofit health care provider, we rely on volunteer support to help meet the needs of providing compassionate, specialized care for patients and families facing an incurable illness.
Whether you choose to work directly with patients and families or volunteer in several other areas available, you'll be making a difference in someone's life. There is a volunteer opportunity for everyone: adults with families, retirees, seniors and those with unique talents. All come from a variety of cultural, social and professional backgrounds.
Our Volunteer Coordinators will work with you in a personal interview to match your talents with current needs.
As a new volunteer, you will recieve training before choosing which volunteer opportunity will be most rewarding for you.
