As a Power of Girls mentor, you have the opportunity to change the life of a girl, and all you have to do is give up one Saturday a month, for six months, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and have fun with the girls through themed activities focusing on leadership, the importance of higher education and career exploration. In the past, activities included a sports day camp, a tour of a local University and working with companies like Wells Fargo and IBM to discover new career possibilities. All of our activities are planned by the council and led by professionals, so all you have to do is come out, enjoy the day, and most importantly, have fun!

Mission Statement
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Description
When people think about Girl Scouts, they think crafts, cookies, and camp but a lot has changed in 103 years. Here at the Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council our girls get their hands dirty with bugs and bones, put their minds to work on science and engineering projects, challenge their body and minds with challenge courses and 5k’s, help breast cancer patients survive their toughest moments, and build lasting relationships with fellow Girl Scouts. We serve extraordinary girls in Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York counties and we are always in need of extraordinary adults to help our girls reach their full potential. Are you up for it?
