Food Rescue (short term project)
ORGANIZATION: Neighbors, Inc.
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Neighbors’ emergency food shelf relies on community food donations to help serve about 20 families per day. Unfortunately many local businesses throw away items that can’t be sold in the store, but could be used to help feed families in need (damaged cans, produce and bakery items that are near their expiration date--but still usable). Volunteers will contact local businesses and make arrangements to save food that can be donated to the food shelf.
Training and mileage reimbursement provided.
This is a short term project: expect about 15-20 hours of service over 1-2 months.
