Hannah's House is a family center that provides a safe place for children caught in the middle of challenging family life changes - a place where children can come together with their parents in a nurturing, supportive, solution-focused and protective environment. Our menu of services is designed to support parents and children through family challenges.

Animal Care Assistant Volunteer

Animal TLC needed! Our ANIMAL staff members are critical members of the Hannah’s House team and they need some TLC! Our wide range of non-dander staff include animals include a green iguana, blue-tongued skink, Russian tortoises, leopard gecko, toad, plated lizard, rosy boa, Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, and a bearded dragon. Applicants should be very comfortable around all reptiles. The primary responsibilities will be feeding, habitat maintenance, handling and educating. Volunteer applicants are required to complete online application, attend volunteer information interview and commit to at least 6 months of volunteer service. Shifts are on Sundays for 2-3 hours between from 1p and 4p. This is a great volunteer opportunity for parent/child teams and teens.

Description

When crisis strikes, Hannah's House assists families to make positive transitions in the family structure. The transitions are caused by: divorce/separation/custody/ visitation disputes; domestic violence; child abuse/neglect; parental substance abuse and mental illness. Hannah's House assists family members through parent and co-parent education, animal-assisted children's groups; facilitated coparenting meetings; anger management classes; and substance abuse evaluations.
